September Pack Meeting on September 29th (Note: Date Change)

Our monthly Pack meeting will be held on our usual last-Tuesday of the month. This month, that’s September 27th.

Pack Meeting
Brookvale School
- Multi-Use Room
7 pm, September 27th
7 pm, Thursday, September 29th  (Note: New Date Due)

Sorry about the date change, folks. We did have approval to use the multi-use room on the 27th but calendars were not in sync with that approval so we’ve had to move the meeting to Thursday.

This meeting will include a recap of our summer activities, games, skits, and more. If you’re new to Scouting this would be a perfect time to come and visit, and maybe even join Scouting!

End of Summer BBQ and Picnic - August 28

Join us on August 28 to celebrate the end of summer and reconnect with your Scouting friends. If you interested in joining Scouts, this is a great opportunity to swing by and meet the Scouts and the Scout leaders.

Los Cerritos Park, Fremont (next to Brookvale School)
Sunday, August 28
11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Pack will provide hot dogs, brats, water, and other snacks
Bring a dish to share (optional)

We will have a variety of activities and games, including a kids vs. parents soccer game and water balloon toss. Bring your favorite picnic chairs and accessories.

Update: here are some photos from the event, including some games such as water balloon toss and our donut eating competition (eating a donut from the end of a string is harder than it looks!). Our Cubmaster Robert Cook also brought some leather and we did some leathercraft too.

Webelos Adventure Camp Photos

A fun time was had by four of our Webelos Scouts at Webelos Adventure Camp at Camp Royaneh. We participated in many fun activities, including swimming, hiking, archery, crafts, and BB guns. We also saw a great deal of wildlife, including deer (who visited the campsite several days), birds, lizards, and banana slugs.

Dinner Details

The pack will be providing the dinner: turkey hot dogs and beef hamburgers. If you want to bring something else for dinner you are free to do so. Just let me know so that I can take that into consideration for menu planning.

The following (current) dens were asked to bring something: Coordinate with your den leaders

  • Webelos: Drinks. This could be additional water, punch, lemonade, sodas ( I have a case of water available )
  • Bears: Fruit for early snacks and for breakfast the next morning (Sunday)
  • Wolf: Dessert
  • Tigers (both): Salads

I will set up for making Root Beer starting after the Bridging ceremony.

I will also be making a Dutch Over cobbler (maybe two) after dinner.

Jim Dalton will be bringing breakfast food: pastries, OJ, etc. There will be coffee and I will be making a Mountain Man Breakfast in my Dutch Oven (tater tots, sausage, eggs, cheese).

Bring a chair to sit on. Dress appropriately for some wind and cold.

About Dairy Glen

Parking is in the Quarry Staging Area parking lot (not near the visitor center). It is a short walk on paved trail to the Dairy Glen campground.  One car at a time may be driven on the trail to the campground, so plan on unloading quickly and then turning around to go back to the parking lot. We have a number of parking passes, and additional ones may be purchased for a nominal fee.
