A fun time was had by four of our Webelos Scouts at Webelos Adventure Camp at Camp Royaneh. We participated in many fun activities, including swimming, hiking, archery, crafts, and BB guns. Mayor Wasserman Speaks to Cub Scouts
Fremont Mayor Robert Wasserman was a guest speaker at the Cub Scout Pack 163 monthly Pack Meeting, held on May 31st at Brookvale Elementary School in Fremont. A former Boy Scout, Mayor Wasserman advised the Cub Scouts to continue with Scouting as it prepared him for his career as a Police Officer and later Police Chief. He said that when new Police recuits had Scouting experience they were always great officers. The Mayor said that the activity he most enjoyed as a Scout was camping.
The former Police Chief said that he enjoyed his career, and advised the young people to find a career that they enjoy. “Try to do something that you really like. You have choices”, the Mayor stated. He cautioned against doing something you don’t like doing, because by the time you retire you’ll hate everything. The Mayor said that he enjoys speaking to young people.
Many thanks to Mayor Robert Wasserman for coming to speak to Cub Scout Pack 163!

Hoot Owl Hike on May 13

Livermore at Dusk
The May 13 - Trail Trek Hike, Hoot Owl - Livermore is fast approaching. This is an evening hike that is Ranger-led. Only 20 participants are allowed. If more than 20 show up the ranger will not begin the hike.
We would like to bring as many scouts as possible. 15 scouts with 5 parents willing to drive.
In order to make this fair the scouts having priority would be the Webelos II & I followed by the Bears, Wolf & Tigers. Obviously if you have already hiked this hike please allow others to have the opportunity.
More to follow as we get a consensus of who are interested.
Please check our website for additional information about the Hoot Owl hike.
