Summer Movie Night August 7
Save the date for our Summer Movie Night on Saturday August 7th.
Time: 7 pm on Saturday, August 7th
Where: Vigil house at 3515 Warwick Road, Fremont
What to Wear: Class B uniforms (Pack Tshirts)
Light snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring some treats to share.
For this event we’ll watch the movie Down and Derby, a fun family film about the Pinewood Derby. I’ve seen this movie and it’s a lot of fun for both kids and adults! We’ll also have some goodies to munch on and some other Scout related fun.

Open House Recruiting
Pack 163 had a presence at the Open House events at Brookvale and Warwick Elementary Schools last night.
Although our Scout program tends to wind down during summer vacation, we do have a few events planned for summer in addition to the Cub Scout camps for current Scouts. We are planning a Movie Night in July and a BBQ Picnic in late August.
Check this site for updates to our summer programs.
Trail Trek Hike to Rodeo Lagoon - May 15
Saturday, May 15th
Meet at Brookvale Elementary at 9:30 am for carpool / departure
The drive is over 50 miles, and over an hour so carpooling makes sense. We can gather everyone’s cell number so we can call each other if someone gets lost.

Rodeo Lagoon
I visited Rodeo Lagoon this weekend and found the Richmond bridge route easy to follow. This is the route I suggest coming into Sausalito Marin County.
We will eventually meet at the visitor center which is a converted church. The Visitor center is a perfect start to our hike as it is rich in educational info regarding the history of the area. There is also a picnic area in the front.
Up the road is the Nike Missile site. Unfortunately it is only open to the public the 1st sat of the month. I just happened to be there so I got a tour.
Don’t despair!! There is plenty to see. There are other open bunkers to see. Our scouts will love it. These bunkers are just a very short drive from the visitor center. The area is a favorite with cyclist so be mindful of them.
This is a beautiful area. The ocean, mountains, spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, natural history and the former military history make for a beautiful day. Be sure to bring you’re camera. Plan for lunch after the hike in the picnic area in front of the visitor center.
